Television has been so present in my household that I am not exactly sure when my love for it actually began. At a young age I remember spending ridiculous amounts of hours on Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, Disney, and even all its sister channels. As I grew older and watched more adult content, I grew to appreciate the writing acting, directing and cinematography of television through shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mr. Robot, and eventually FX’s Legion. Although it may be condemned by some, personally I somewhat view television as a phenomenon that brings people together. It sparks discussions, fan bases, ignites friendships, and even pulls families closer together if they find that one show they all love. A show, as it is to many, is more to me than a 40 minute episode. It’s an outlet. It’s an escape. Like film, television is a love of mine and I want to share this passion right here on 4therace.
